Welcome to our new County website!

A short and sweet update from me. We’ve had a brilliant summer being able to get out and meet our leaders and young members all over the County. We’ve had a presence at many family fun days around the County talking to people in the community about Girlguiding and all the great things we do!

A few things we’ve been up to this summer:

The Queens Platinum Jubilee

We were honoured to have an official Beacon for the Jubilee Celebrations, which we lit during the official ceremony on the 2nd June. After a lovely gathering (with a buffet and a quiz) our County President, Libby, did the honours of lighting the Beacon marking this special occasion. The Beacon is available if anyone would like to use it for a celebration or event. We are looking to have the Beacon on at our future Thinking Day events and our 2022 Annual Awards Event, hosted by Welland Division, in November (weather permitting!)

Lincolnshire Poacher 2022

Poacher 2022 marked my first Poacher as an adult! I’ve not had to opportunity to return since I was a Guide and then Ranger, only a few years ago of course!  Luckily – with my County Commissioner hat on – there weren’t too many fires to be put out and I managed to have a lovely week heading around the sub-camps to meet you all! Not being able to have opportunities like this in the past few years, due to Covid, it was amazing to be able to see our young members experiencing new activities and making friends to last a lifetime. Lincoln Pride 2022

We attended the Pride celebration in Lincoln City centre back in August and had a fantastic day! It was the Lincoln first Pride back after 3 years and what a way to celebrate! We took part in the march through the city and had a stall on Tentercroft Street chatting to the community about Girlguiding, our Diversity and Inclusion plans and now we are looking forward to Pride 2023 to do it all again!
