County Commissioner
I started as a Brownie leader and have been in charge of a Brownie unit for about 10 years. I became the Bain & Witham District Commissioner in 2017 and South Lindsey Division Commissioner the following year. I enjoyed being a Commissioner so much that I kept both roles! My time working with teams, supporting leaders and other volunteers prepared me for some of the challenges when I was appointed as County Commissioner in January 2021 by Tracey Foster, Region Chief Commissioner.
When I became CC the challenge of supporting units to reopen, post pandemic, was at the forefront of the work we wanted to do. Supporting leaders and girls is very important and recruiting new members has been very successful. Commissioners and Leaders have worked hard at recruitment events and we have enjoyed meeting people at our meet and greet sessions. These will continue through the next year.
Supporting others and being given the opportunity to meet others. The best thing about this role is being able to develop my skills and use them to support other people in different ways. Empowering leaders to take on other roles including Commissioner and Advisor roles is a passion of mine.
Being proud of my Girlguiding County and being able to promote the great things we are achieving within Girlguiding Anglia and country wide!
