Nellie Doubleday Centre

Nellie Doubleday Centre has two small campsites and a fully insulated, double-glazed building known as Seagull House which is suitable for residential bookings.

Seagull House

Facilities include a large activity/dining room which has a carpeted area with comfy chairs. There is a dormitory with bunkbeds for up to 24. Also a smaller room with 4 single beds and a first aid room equipped with a bunk bed.
There is a large kitchen which has everything provided and washrooms with toilets, showers and sinks.
There is also a conservatory/foyer area which is handy for outdoor clothing and shoes!

Little Tern and Kittiwake Campsites

Two small scale campsites, one is suitable for up to 20 and the second for up to 30 campers. There is an outdoor toilet/shower block and you can book the wet weather building alongside your campsite booking. The building houses a fully fitted kitchen with a large carpeted room that houses tables and chairs.

Alongside the above you will also find Nellie’s Den on-site. This is a large timber-built hut (like a summer house) with some chairs and a table but no electricity.

On-site you will also find a climbing boulder for use by Units staying at the Centre.

History of the site:

The land was given to Girlguiding Lincolnshire South in 1979 by Mr Henry Doubleday who wished it to be named for his wife Nellie who had been a Guide. Seagull House was then built in 1992.
